The ONLINE experience: Tanya simulates a studio teaching environment. Classes are conducted in real time, full of live demonstrations and direct instruction. Classes sizes are kept at 10 students to enable individual attention and critique. Classes are conducted via zoom and we simultaneously use Padlet, an educational platform, for sharing class content and images.

Immerse yourself in the wonderful world of watercolour painting. In these structured classes, Tanya teaches a full range of watercolour painting techniques both past and contemporary. Students will practice across a wide range of subject matter, including still life, landscape and the figure. Time will be spent on the different applications of watercolour: as a sketch medium, working plein air and for finished studio paintings.

Beginners are welcome as well as more experienced artists wanting to pursue projects of their own

Please bring preferred and pre-owned materials

A Note about Materials: the huge range of watercolour materials available can be difficult to navigate, particularly for beginners. Tanya is happy to be contacted by enrolled students prior to the course for advice on what to buy.

Paper: Good quantity of high-quality 100% Cotton Cold Pressed watercolour paper. Tanya recommends large size 56x76 cm 300gsm loose sheets. It is more economical, and Tanya will demonstrate how best to divide up to required size.
